Why subscribe? About this newsletter
This newsletter offers analysis, views, and updates on macroeconomics; central banks and financial markets; and the economics of climate change.
The viewpoint may alternate: it may be that of an investor (what’s likely to happen, and what are the market implications?), of a policymaker (what’s the best policy?), or both. Cruising altitude will vary, from the high-level, really-big-picture, to deep dives into the data - and everything in between. Some pieces will be op-ed in style, while others somewhat more technical.
I aim for one post per week on average.
You have suggestions, questions, feedback, complaints - or you just want to get in touch? Please email me on: s.andreopoulos@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you.
Feedback on Thin Ice Macroeconomics
About me
I am passionate about economics, markets, and macro because I want to understand the world around me.
I also believe that macroeconomics can contribute essential insights for dealing with the greatest challenge we face in our lifetimes: climate change. Conversely, climate change is already shaping the macroeconomy, and will only become more important over time.
I have worked at the European Central Bank, where I conducted monetary policy analysis and prepared Governing Council meetings and communication. I have also worked in the private financial sector, at investment banks BNP Paribas and Morgan Stanley.
Other sins of mine include a PhD in Economics from the University of London and certificates on the science, economics and investing of climate change from Harvard’s Kennedy School and EDHEC Business School.
